Dr. Birgit Stöber

Born and educated in Berlin (M.A., 1996 Geography, Political Sciences, Media & Communication Studies). In 2004 PhD at the Department of Geography, University of Copenhagen. Since 2004 assistant professor at Copenhagen Business School. Currently working with three different issues: the socio-economic organisation of cultural industries, place branding and new urban governance. My main research interest lies in the role of mass media as part of the creative industries. Geographically, focus lies on the cities of Copenhagen and Berlin as well as “Øresund Region”. My practical experience stems from a three years period of journalistic work as foreign correspondent for various German newspapers and public service radio with residence in Copenhagen.

 

Ares Kalandides

Ares Kalandides is a researcher in urban geography at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and head of the city marketing company InPolis in Berlin, Germany. His research work focuses on questions of place identities, governance and creative economy. He has been a consultant to Berlin’s official city marketing organization Berlin Partner since 1996. He is currently working on his PhD while lecturing at the Universities of Athens and Berlin.

 

Dr. Bastian Lange

Bastian Lange is postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz-Institute for Regional Geography in Leipzig, Germany. His current research activities are in the field of creative industries, entrepreneurship, and milieu analysis. He has worked as a consultant in urban and regional planning and creative industries. Besides research, he lectures at the University of Kassel, Potsdam, Dortmund, and Berlin. Between 2003 and 2006 he was Co-Advisor of the international postgraduate Urban-Studies-Program “Bauhaus Kolleg”. For further information and publications, see www.bastianlange.de
